A Flying Jatt is not the first Superhero Movie that has been made in Bollywood, Its timing though is interesting. Stan Lee’s Chakra – The Invincible too is to make its Bollywood debut soon. The movies beg us the question that whether superheroes in Bollywood do make good viewing. Such films have been made in the recent past with little success.
Remo D’Souza’s directorial venture starring Tiger shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles have not pleased the critics, even though it is attracting youngsters as they always do.
A generation which enjoys SuperMan, Batman, Ironman, Spiderman, Avengers,Hulk and Justice League is not shying away from the Sikh Superhero. With the movie coming out on a festive weekend, it has added to people turning up at theatres. Numbers say A Flying Jatt has raked in a bonus figure of 7.1crores in the beginning. But reviews say that the movie is boring.

While the debate over who is hotter Tiger Shroff’s Flying Jatt,Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish or Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One rages on, the occupancy turns out to be a clear dud.
People had expectations as Tiger has proved his fandom with movies such as Baghi and Heropanti. It remains to be seen though if A Flying Jatt recovers the cost that has gone into the making!
Multiplexes have seen a decent turnout of kids as per reports.
Experts who are busy analysing the movie at first glance say the Hindi film industry is one where a full-fledged package of romance, drama, action, comedy, songs and dance in a single film captivate audiences.
They however quickly add in Bollywood the concept of superheroes is yet to be mastered. Apart from Krishh and RaOne the least famous one is Drona.
While the world boasts of DC and marvel, India has comic superheroes like Nagraj , Dhruv , Tiranga and Doga.
Desi Superheroes
Next in line in the Indian Superhero genre is Vikramaditya Motwane’s Chakra The Invincible, the first Indian superhero created by legendary comic-book writer Stan Lee and Ayan Mukherji’s Dragon starring Ranbir Kapoor.
“I’m a fan of Bollywood films and am really excited about launching Chakra the Invincible as my first Bollywood superhero movie,” Lee told a foreign media outlet in April.
A Flying Jatt has been compared to the 2016 hit Deadpool because of its humour and the reason that it is not as serious in appeal.
Despite comparisons to Deadpool, Batman and Spider Man, the protagonist of A Flying Jatt has his own personality.
He faces issues unique to an Indian hero and will sing and dance too.
India long back had its brush with superheroes in the form of Sindbad the Sailor, Haatim Tai and Chhota Chetan.
Reviewers say A Flying Jatt has taken elements from Sam Raimi’s Spiderman Trilogy, Will Smith-starrer Hancock and Bryan Singer’s X Men: Days of Future Past.

Shaktimaan’s acts of bravado were seen by many Indian households from 1997 till 2005, with a total of 400 episodes aired by Doordarshan. There is news that the superhit show will return soon.
The odd Shaktimaan that worked was not a cultural phenomenon. It was a hit among a certain generation of kids, who in their mid-20s today, look back at Shaktimaan as sometimes a nostalgic figure and sometimes as a joke.
While we now debate over whether the Superhero culture in Bollywood is a bit out of place, attempts to do a DC or Marvel in India is worthy of praise. Even our caped crusaders rule by all means.
