When modernity marries what is slightly old it often brings out a unique blend of creative expression, especially when it comes to the performing arts.

If Lucknow Camera Club since its inception in 1978 has trained up many a young aspiring photographer, to get just that perfect shot to capture the imagination of the viewer, Kalasrot adds a dash of the 21st century art gallery culture which magnifies and gives such talent the right platform. Kala Srot is a private Art Gallery and Art centre dedicated to promote contemporary art practices.

Nearly work of 15 members of Lucknow Camera Club are on display at Aliganj’s Kalasrot art gallery run efficiently by Anurag and Mansi Didwania.

Inaugurated by Former Principal cum dean, College of Arts and Crafts, Lucknow University, Prof Jai Krishna Agarwal, the exhibition showcases work of a spectrum of the most highly respected shutterbugs in town like Ajaish Jaiswal, Col Anil Mehrotra, Vinay Shukla, Arun Singh, Arunaa Singh, Anusha Sameer, Sparsh Singh, Sujata Paul, Nitin Arora, Rupak De and Trilochan Singh Kalra among others.

Also present were senior photojournalists Kuldeep Gupta, Bindu Arora to name a few.

Though the exhibition has no specific underlining theme the photographers have shown great finesse in shadow work, abstract photography, daily life portraits, wildlife photography and some experimental clicks which prove to be a joyride as we enter Kalasrot.

The exhibition has been decorated and curated by renowned photographer and President of Lucknow Camera Club, Anil Risal Singh.

Through the years Lucknow Camera Club has helped many people to understand the intricacies of photography by organizing workshops, seminars, lectures, slide shows and exhibitions

Lucknow Camera Club has the distinction of winning efficiency medals from India International Photographic Council, New Delhi and Federation of Indian Photography, Kolkata among other laurels.
