Even as Pakistan faces one of its worst times vis a vis terrorism, the Pakistani Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa alleges that India is responsible for Islamabad’s inability or unwillingness to act against terror that’s been grown and nourished on its own soil. But the recent spate of terror attacks is being seen as something which is Pakistan’s own doing.
The recent launch of the Operation Radd – ul Fasaad to flush out terrorism is seen as a positive step.
The operation aims at eliminating “residual/latent threat of terrorism”, consolidating the gains made in other military operations, ensuring the security of Pakistan’s borders.
Sources quoted by news sources point out the effort will be on countrywide de-weaponisation and explosive control. Pertinently Pakistan’s National Action Plan had been launched after the ghastly Peshawar attack which killed 132 children in 2014.
Experts say that there has been a paradigm shift in the Pakistan policy. While the idea earlier was to just tap the anti Pakistan groups like Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, al-Qaeda, Jundallah and the Haqqani network now Pakistan is going after terror groups of all shades.

There have been nearly eight terror attacks this month in Pakistan where more than 100 people have been killed. In the attack on the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar , as many as 88 people were killed.
There are even those who argue that, Pakistan needs a change of narrative.
Many reports attribute the unease in Pakistan to the former army chief, Raheel Sharif. He launched a military operation, called Zarb-i-Azb, against jihadist outfits.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa has vowed to continue with the military action against jihadist organizations.
Those in the know spell out that Pakistan must honour its commitments in the 2016 Quadrilateral road map negotiated with Afghanistan, U.S., and China.
While Pakistan fights the demon of terror, India watches closely as it has all along called for strong action against terrorism emanating from across the fence.
