Global media including the representatives of the fourth estate back home in India had gone gaga when they spotted an Indian clad in Salwar kameez making crucial wrestling manoeuvres.
Little did they know that one day that the lady once a Haryana cop will rise to get her ticket to World Wrestling Entertainment.
It was only recently that it became public that Kavita Devi has become the first woman to have been signed up by the WWE.
The announcement came from none other than current WWE champion Jinder Mahal during a visit to the national capital.
A former Haryana cop, Kavita hit international headlines during the Mae Young classic tournament.
Kavita Devi rose to fame after her fight against a wrestler named BB Bull Bull knocking her out.
Kavita is an established name in competitive sports.
Kavita Devi had taken on Dakota Kai, a New Zealand professional wrestler in her debut match. The Indian grappler started off well then but lost for lack of experience.
