CONAN, the smart doggie
Conan did what even the most hardened anti terror experts would have dreaded. He sniffed out Baghdadi and chased him to his grave.
The terror of Abu – Bakr – al – Baghdadi has been for all to see. The mayhem, the bloodshed, the chopping off heads on live stream and videos coupled with repeated talk of him dying only to resurface, had made him the most dreaded terror monger globally with several major terrorist attacks crafted by his terror syndicate.
As a terrorist who once rained terror across the globe and carved out a terror nation from the Middle East, interestingly met his fateful death after being chased and cornered into a dark tunnel by a US Special Forces dog.
When Donald Trump disclosed that a dog chased Baghdadi to his death, as the world watched with bated breath. The dark and dangerous tunnel saw this brave canine doing what even the most tough souls would shudder to do.
President trump was quoted saying, “We have declassified a picture of the wonderful dog (name not declassified) that did such a GREAT JOB in capturing and killing the Leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi!”
As news of this dog went viral, the canine was identified as Conan, a dog assigned to the Joint Special Operations (JSOC).
Unlike most military working dogs who are either German or Dutch Shepherds, Conan happens to be a Belgian Malinois, hugely regarded for its exceptional intelligence and athletic abilities. Reportedly the dog that accompanied US commandoes who killed al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden at his hideout in Pakistan’s Abbottabad was named as Cairo. It was also a Belgian Malinois.
A special breed specially trained and tailored for the military and police, dogs including Conan and Cairo are part of the US Delta Force unit operating under highly lethal but secretive US joint special operations command.
Armed and prepared for battle with strong vests and training, they are fully efficient in leaping out of planes with human soldiers for insertions during secret missions.
Particularly great picks for reconnaissance and surveillance, with a camera snapped to their body.
Canines are the most sought after for sniffing operations, search and rescue, explosive ordnance disposal, and hunt and kill says a report.
Injured during the top secret raid to capture or kill Islamic State founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Syria, the dog is recovering from an injury.
President Trump had said when the American troops landed in eight helicopters they had specially trained canines along with them. A robot, the first of its kind added to the team though unused.
“Nobody was even hurt. Our ‘K-9’ as they call, I call it a dog, a beautiful dog. A talented dog was injured and brought back,” Trump said in response to a question.
Handlers often refer to Belgian Malinois dogs as “Maligators” or “hair missiles” due to their speed and strong jaw.
The US K9 squad commando Conan was unleashed on Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the final approach.
