Life can be cruel and unfair sometimes. Sometimes it is also possible that the true genius of the person in question comes to the fore when he sadly passes away. Such is the story of Vinayak Sreedhar, an Amity International School, Noida student.

Vinayak who was highly inspired by the physicist Stephen Hawking, scored a near 100 in three subjects for which he appeared during the CBSE exams. The bright kids life was cut short after he passed away in March before he could appear for the remaining exams.

Vinayak leaves behind his mark with scores – 100 in English, 96 in Science and 97 in Sanskrit. He could not give his Computer Science and Social Studies exam.

The boy’s dream of being an astronaut and a trip to Rameshwaram remain unfulfilled. Vinayak suffered from muscular dystrophy since he was two-years-old.

The Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a genetic disorder due to progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. It is caused due to absence of dystrophin, that keep muscle cells intact.

The results were announced on Monday.

Interestingly the kid appeared for his exams as a general category student.

British theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking was a patient of motor neurone disease.

A family that has academically strong people, Vinayak’s sister is an Indian Institute of Science (IISc) alumnus and is currently pursuing her Phd at the University of British Columbia on a fellowship. His father is a vice president in GMR, his mother is a home maker.

It is stories like these that reaffirm your faith in the fact that a disability is not a impediment to progress and growth academically and professionally. But if only Vinayak could live to celebrate his success.
