A Baahubali Ganpati Storm hits India

Not just has the Baahubali phenomenon been pathbreaking historically and cinematically, it is also inspiring artisans to craft gods on them ahead of festivals like Ganeshotsav.
The Prabhas starrer has now become a rage among artisans with the Baahubali Ganesha trending this festive season.
All this, when Prabhas who plays Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali has become a force to reckon with.
Ganesh idols across India are being inspired by iconic scenes from SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali. The Baahubali phenomenon has taken the nation by storm eversince idols modelled on Shivudu’s shivalinga scene hit the market.

This time around, the favourite design happens to be one from the coronation ceremony and Baahubali atop an elephant releasing an arrow for Raaavan-dahan during Dusshera.
The Baahubali Ganpatis will only add to the success of the film given that the film has made several 100 crores at the global box office.
Ganpati idols come in all shapes and sizes and look really adorable.
Apart from intricate craftmansship, Ganpati Bappa is more muscular and even has six pack abs to flaunt. Baahubali styled Ganpati idols are selling like hot cakes in the market. Another popular Ganesha in the Baahubali genre seems to be a statue standing tall at 30 feet sporting 1,000 hands holding a globe instead of the ‘laddu’.

Directed by S. S Rajamouli, ‘Baahubali’ is the biggest film ever made in Telugu cinema with an over 200 crore budget. ‘Baahubali’ notably became the biggest opener of 2015 soon after the release.
Artisans speaking to the Asian Age say that idol makers this year are getting 10-15 orders of Baahubali Ganpatis. Each week atleast four idols of Baahubali Ganpati are being made. Big Baahubali Ganpatis cost Rs 25,000,while small idols cost Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000.
